What is a Float Mounted Mat?
With a float mounted mat, your print is raised off the backing to create a soft shadow effect, giving it the look of floating inside the frame. This adds depth and showcases the full sheet, including the natural paper edges. All float-mounted prints come on textured, deckled-edge paper.
This option is particularly well suited for watercolors, illustrations, and fine art prints, but may not be the best fit for photographs.
Bitter Darlings is an Atlanta-based fine art brand founded by artist Zarinah, focused on healing, rediscovery, and empowerment following personal hardship. Operating under the motto "Never Broken-Hearted," the brand creates art and products that reflect resilience and strength, often highlighting Black women's culture and personal journeys. Bitter Darlings is represented by ComfiArt. "Angel Bitter" by Bitter Darlings. Printed on premium archival paper. Available in multiple sizes; unframed, framed, or matted. All matted works are mounted floating, with deckled edged paper, over a white mat.
